The world needs your novel.

We enter this festive season, November having just passed, and with it, a special season of creativity and expression. A writing season.

November is known amongst writers alike as a time of despair, desperation and motivation - also known as National Novel Writing Month.

The goal of NaNoWriMo is to motivate yourself to write more and ultimately, to write fifty thousand words in one month. For some people, this is a breeze; a regular for them. However, for a vast majority, the time, effort and organisation required for this is a major challenge.

But life is all about challenging oneself. It's an incredible achievement, to be able to say that you've ever completed NaNoWriMo, and just as impressive to say that you've tried. And such efforts do not go unrewarded.

Upon the completion of the challenge, you'll receive many a prize - a certificate from The Office of Letters and Light, tools to help you further your writing, discounts on such, and more. But I believe that the true prize of this is the sense of accomplishment and self-satisfaction you'll feel. And certainly, it's an experience.

Whether you tried, or you succeeded, it is something to be proud of and look back on later in life. It's an unrelenting journey of trial and improvement, and you'll emerge a better writer. And who knows, it may further your organisation too! Besides, there's always a next year.

So keep a look out for next November, fellow writers. Prepare, remember to not stress too much and essentially, have fun.
