On average only 8% of people complete their new year’s resolutions. This is a shocking statistic and it did make me question our capabilities. However, I have a master plan that will allow anyone to complete their new year’s resolutions.

The first step in ensuring a successful resolution in the new year is to not set high or unreachable goals. To make sure that you can see the rewards of all your resolutions, you can set different time scales. By having monthly and yearly goals, you are more likely to see the benefits and take note of smaller achievements. Sometimes a 12-month time scale is too far ahead for people to notice how their journey towards their goals is progressing. Success is noted through progression and the more successful you are, the more motivated you will be to continue your resolution.

Next, clean out your clutter and start the year off in the right way by going through all your items and asking if it makes you happy. If it does not, then give it to charity, sell it on eBay or give it to a friend. This will get you ready to start the new year in a positive and fresh light which makes it much easier to focus on your goals.

Finally, I also suggest that people use January as a month to trial ideas and resolutions. Try the local gym, clean out your wardrobe, trial the intimidating vegan superfoods. It is all about finding the right way to reach success for you! If the first month of the new year does not go to plan, do not give up on your resolutions. Instead, consider it a way to revaluate how you are going to reach your final goal. Get ready and prepared for the real “new year” in February.

Make 2016 the year that you make a change in your life. If January was not as successful as you thought it would be, it does not mean it is time to give up. Make the most of February and the rest of the exciting new year to come!
