This weekend, eight schools from around Kent met to compete at Rainham School for Girls in the U16 Kent finalist’s Netball Tournament. The qualifying teams woke up early on a frosty Saturday morning and arrived at the venue at 09:00am for a 10:00am sharp start.

The tournament was played as a round robin, meaning every team has a set number of games and so plays everyone.

Also on the 28th, U18 and U14 finalists competed at Rainham for title of schools netball champions in Kent. With a total of 24 teams at the venue, the tournament ran smoothly despite the icy weather and hectic schedule.

After the final whistle was blown, the scores were compiled to find the winners for each age group. After the exhausting day of netball, Tonbridge Grammar School finished in first place, earning the title of U16 Champions for Kent. TGS won all of their matches, safely securing their first place position. Sevenoaks followed closely in second place, missing out by just a few points. However, both teams then qualified for the next level Regional Tournament, which they will play later this netball season.

Well done to all of the teams that competed on Saturday and congratulations to the winner for each age group.
