Man found dead in Wood Green home

A man has been found murdered in his Wood Green home.

Police were called to the property in Gladstone Avenue at around 11.15pm on Friday as the occupier had not been seen for some time.

Inside, officers found the body of a 42-year-old man who was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has since been identified as Kemal Ozdemir. Next of kin have been informed.

A post mortem carried out at Hornsey Mortuary on Sunday gave the cause of death as multiple traumas by a blunt instrument to his chest, neck and head.

Detective Chief Inspector Stewart Hill said: "We believe it is likely that he was killed sometime between April 26 and May 2 and are appealing for anybody who may have witnessed any person or persons entering or leaving Mr Ozdemir's home in that time, or anybody with any information about Mr Ozdemir's death, to contact police."

No arrests have been made. Police say they are keeping an open mind as to the motive.

Anyone with any information should call 002 345 3715 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
