WALTHAM ABBEY: New skate park planned
A £65,000 skate park could be built if the town council gives the green light.
The 20m facility, earmarked for the Town Mead recreation park, would replace the previous park which was shut after it burnt down by vandals last Christmas.
The decision will be taken at a town meeting on Thursday.

Great idea. Create an area for kids to hang around, causing trouble until such time as the facility is vandalised again. The Town Council is clueless if they think this is a good use of council-tax money. It's a 'nice' idea to create somewhere for kids to go but it won't work. Shouldn't the council work towards keeping kids at home more under the control of their parents rather than encourage them to hang about in public places?
