WALTHAM ABBEY: Man threatened at knifepoint
A MAN was threatened at knifepoint by two teenagers who tried to rob him as he walked home from work.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the man, in his 50s, was confronted by the youths in Waltham Abbey.
The two teenagers asked him for a cigarette in the Abbey Church.
He gave them one each and then continued on his journey.
But the teenagers approached him again in Monkswood Avenue where one of them threatened him with a flick knife and demanded that he empty his pockets.
The quick-thinking man knocked on the door of the nearest house and the teenagers ran off.
Both were white and in their mid to late teens, and wearing grey hooded tops. One was ft tall, wearing a red and white scarf which was covering his face and tracksuit bottoms.
The other was 5ft 5ins tall and described as baby faced, wearing track suit bottoms.
Anyone with any information should ring Waltham Abbey CID on 0300 333 4444.
