Disciplinary action could be taken against Lambeth Council leader Steve Reed for his treatment of a fellow councillor.
Last Thursday, a town hall’s standards committee decided a full conduct hearing was required to see whether Labour leader Councillor Reed breached the code conduct for comments he made about former Brixton Hill ward councillor Betty Evans-Jacas when she defected from Labour to the Tories.
A formal complaint was made by Mrs Evans-Jacas, who lost her seat at the May elections, for derogatory comments Coun Reed posted on his website about her, including the disclosure of confidential information.
A date for the hearing has not yet been set.
