A teenager has been arrested after two men were shot at while in a car near a youth club on the Palace Road estate today.
Police were called to Palace Road, near the Palace Project youth club, at about 2.15am to reports of a non-fatal shooting.
Officers believe two men approached the parked car, when one man pulled out a gun and fired at it.
At least one bullet is believed to have struck the vehicle. No-one was injured in the attack, which police believe could be gang related.
Police arrested a 19-year-old less than an hour later on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
He is being held in custody at a south London police station.
A large area of the estate was cordoned off today while officers carried out a fingertip search of the area searching for discharged cartridges.
Youth workers from the Palace Project recently warned of an escalation in crime and antisocial behaviour on the estate, and the growing prevalance of gangs, because of a reduction in the centre's opening hours.
