Adult learners’ week kicks off in Richmond’s libraries on Saturday, May 12.
The nationwide annual festival, encouraging people to continue learning, aims to inspire residents to try new things and discover how learning new skills could enrich their lives.
Events on offer during the week will include yoga and confidence workshops, talks about gourmet coffee production and local history lessons, as well as sessions teaching the basics of social media and blogging.
Councillor Pamela Fleming, Richmond’s strategic cabinet member for communities, business and culture, said: “For those who wish to get into the spirit of learning it is an excellent opportunity to develop new skills that can make their lives easier and more fulfilling.”
Anyone is free to attend the courses and talks on offer with price of entry starting from £1.
