A college tutor will be attempting to pedal to Paris in just three days for charity.
Tom Charman, from Whitton, is hoping to make the 250- mile distance in aid of the Stroke Association after his father suffered a stroke last year.
He said: “What recovery my dad has made is all due to the people who have done research into strokes and I wanted to give something back.
“My dad has faced a really big challenge and this is the biggest thing I've ever done. I want to show respect for my dad.”
The 24-year-old, who teaches at Richmond College, has been cycling between six and seven miles a day and took part in the London to Brighton cycle ride as part of his training.
He will be setting off on his challenge on Monday and is hoping to raise £1,300 for the charity.
