Make-up students painted a very different picture of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland at a special show.
West Thames College’s specialist make-up graduation show saw 45 pupils bringing to life an eccentric array of Alices, Mad Hatters, Queen of Hearts, White Rabbits and Cheshire Cats in front of industry experts.
Models took to the stage at the Isleworth college’s new Endeavour Theatre under the themes of Wonderland and the darker Underland to mark the end of creative arts week earlier this month.
Julia Townend, specialist make-up course coordinator said: “Our audience was a mixture of industry hair and makeup artists and proud parents. It was extremely rewarding for me to see this great achievement after weeks of preparation and hard work by all the higher education make-up students.”
Make-up artist Alex Box, art director of Illamasqua, said: “I really enjoyed the show and meeting the students. It means a lot to me seeing all those fresh faces working really hard and supporting each other.”
After the show, guests donated money to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation. Sophie was murdered in Lancashire in 2007. It is believed the attack was provoked because the 20-year-old wore gothic fashion.
Sophie’s mum, Sylvia Lancaster, attended the show to present a prize for outstanding achievement.
