Rowers take on Sport Relief challenge at Chiswick's George IV pub

A group of rowers and rugby players will spend 24 hours in a pub to raise money for charity.

The sports fans will be putting their fitness to the test as they take part in a 24-hour rowathon at Chiswick’s George IV pub for Sport Relief.

Cheering on the participants, who will be rowing for up to an hour at a time, will be a host of sports personalities and celebrities, including TV presenter Matthew Kelly and sprinter Darren Campbell.

Supporters are being urged to visit the pub in Chiswick High Road to watch the players being put through their paces on the sculling simulator machine, donated for the event by the Gym Clinic, in Power Road.

It is hoped more than £5,000 will be raised by the event.

The cash will go to the BBC-backed charity and the rowathon begins at noon tomorrow.
