Four workers have been deported - and a further five face the same fate - following a raid by Border Agency officers on a Brentford business.
Nine workers including six Indian men, two Indian women and a Nigerian man, were arrested for a variety of immigration offences when officers swooped on Euroworld Direct Marketing, in Shield Drive, last Thursday morning.
If Euroworld fails to prove it carried out the correct right-to-work checks on staff, it could be slapped with a hefty fine of up to £90,000.
Four of the Indian nationals arrested have already been removed from the UK, the other four are in detention pending their removal, and the Nigerian man remains in custody while further enquiries are made.
The arrests came just days after fourteen people were detained following similar operations, including a raid on Scanwell Freight Services, in Amberley Way, Hounslow.
Head of Hounslow local immigration team, assistant director Ben Kelso, said: “I hope these raids send out a strong message that we are determined to make Hounslow a less attractive place for illegal immigrants.
“Illegal working is not a victimless crime. It has a serious impact on communities, taking jobs from those who are genuinely allowed to work and affecting law-abiding businesses.
“More operations like this are planned, and employers who do break the law should know that we are out there looking for them and they will face action.”
Anyone who suspects that illegal workers are being employed at a business can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Firms failing to carry out the proper checks when employing migrant workers from outside Europe can be fined £10,000 per illegal employee.
