Sister of dying man to dive off Bognor Pier to raise money for life-saving op

The sister of a dying man will be diving off Bognor Pier dressed as a bird to raise money to pay for a life-saving operation.

Joanne Mirasole plans on dressing as either Big Bird or a pink flamingo when she takes part in the Bognor Birdman Competition this weekend.

Along with the rest of her family, Mrs Mirasole is trying to raise £934,000 to pay for a double lung transplant for father-of-four Joe Doyle.

Mr Doyle, who grew up in the family’s Putney home, is dying of an incurable lung condition but could be saved if he receives treatment at an expensive American hospital.
