A former nurse from St George’s and Queen Mary’s hospitals is on cloud nine after landing her dream job - on board a flying hospital.
Angela Purcell, who used to work as a senior staff nurse in both Tooting and Roehampton, has been appointed head nurse of the Flying Eye Hospital (FEH) - a fully equipped teaching hospital inside a DC-10 aircraft run by eyesight charity ORBIS.
Its mission is to help medical teams in developing countries to provide eye care for their communities.
Angela said: “I want to say how very privileged I am to be part of the FEH team. "It is a great honour to be able to work with this organisation that I have always held with the highest of regards for all these years."
