Police uncovered a cannabis factory during a drugs raid in Carshalton.
Officers raided a terraced property in Westminster Road during a raid shortly before 8am yesterday morning (Feb 9).
In an upstairs front bedroom they found two black tents containing around 30 mature cannabis plants about 3ft high.
Police estimated the drugs had a street value of many thousands of pounds.
Officers led by St Helier Safer Neighbourhoods sergeant Barry Lauder forced entry to the property - in response to information received from people in the area.
Sgt Barry Lauder said: "This is all about local officers, responding to information from local communities to stop the activities of local criminals.
"This is a good result. We are determined to crack down on drugs related offenders."
He urged local people to get in touch if they see suspicious behaviour or have information about crime or anti-social behaviour in their area.
Anyone with information can contact Sutton police station on 101 or their safer neighbourhoods team on met.police.uk/sutton.

Instead of producing cannabis in clandestine and often very unhealthy conditions, as is encouraged by prohibition, we need to be moving towards a more honest and open system of regulation as suggested by Sir Richard Branson. Currently youngsters are easy prey for the villains who were given the entire market by prohibition. We need to protect the youth with a properly regulated supply with age controls, ID checks etc. Legalise regulate and tax for a happier brighter future.
