Croydon’s trams will see severe disruption as Transport for London carry out essential track work.
The town centre will see station and road closures between Saturday, February 11 and Friday, February 17 including 24-hour work.
The works will take place at Crown Hill/George Street, Wellesley Road/George Street and Station Road/Wellesley Road.
During the works George Street will be closed to traffic, with a diversion along Park Street. But temporary loading bays will be available along Park Street and the top of George Street to help local businesses.
The slip road off Wellesley Road and George Street will be closed, Station Road (northbound lane only) will be closed to traffic but pedestrian will have access to businesses.
George Street, Church Street, Centrale, West Croydon and Wellesley Road tram stops will be closed, trams will not run between Reeves Corner and East Croydon and Elmers End will close during early mornings, evenings and all day on Sundays.
The service there will also finish at 11pm on Friday 10 February Valid tram tickets will be accepted on local bus services between Reeves Corner and East Croydon.
