A CRASH between a haulage lorry and a car in New Cross last night (July 2) left a driver with possible spinal injuries.

The man, who is believed to be in his 50s, was cut out of his Vauxhall after the collision in Amersham Road near the Amersham Arms pub at about 10pm.

He was put on a spinal board as a precaution in case he had sustained any spinal, neck or back injuries in the accident before being taken to hospital.

The driver of the haulage lorry was checked over but was not injured.

Police closed the road for about 90 minutes while firefighters and ambulance staff worked at the scene.
