A WOOLWICH school which recently underwent a £7.5m rebuild has been given yet another award.
St Mary Magdalene Church of England Primary School took the highly commended award in the Excellence in Design category at this year's British Council for School Environments (BCSE) Awards.
The school – designed by construction consultancy firm Pellings - was constructed on the site of its old Victorian buildings, allowing it to double in size.
BCSE Chief executive Nusrat Faizullah said that: "St Mary Magdalene is amongst the best of our schools – those which have buildings that meet the needs of our teachers and children.
"As well as highlighting excellence, these awards are a big ‘thank you’ to all those helping to improve our schools."
It has already picked up a prize at last month's Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Awards.
