AROUND 30 fire fighters are tackling a blaze at a kebab shop in Lewisham.

Six fire engines were sent to the takeaway at the junction of Belmont Hill and Lee High Road after a call at 12.06pm.

Crews from Lee Green, Greenwich, Lewisham and Forest Hill are at the scene where half of the ground floor of the two storey building is alight.

A London Fire Brigade spokesman says the fire is believed to have started in an extractor fan system.
