This is not the first serious accident involving a bus on this spot. How many more lives do the idiotic road lay-outs and arrangements for buses on the peninsula need to claim until the council and the bus operators take action?

People should make sure they are FULLY aware of the facts before criticising the road layout and/or bus operators.

It is really sad , I was there from North Greenwich Station and the traffic light was closed for pedestrians but opened for buses going and coming from North Greenwhich. My thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time and the driver for the 486 bus.As passengers we had to get off the buses and find alternative ways , luckily my car was at the Odeon car park.May her soul rest in peace.

This is really a tragic news..So sadden...I think london bus operator needs to take good note as regards those they employ...Some of this drivers are inexperience and the can wreck havoc into people families and turn the table of happiness to sadness...Although we are living in an uncertain world where unforeseen occurrence are bound to happen at any unprecedented time...We ourself needs to be on the look out not to be a victim.it really hurt me badly because she is my dear sister.May Jehovah remember you in the resurrection day.

As sad as this story is i feel i must stress that, being one of the colleagues of the driver involved, the driver was an established driver with many years experience.

This is one of the worst kind of incients a driver and indeed pasenger can experience, as these sort of incidents affect many people, not just those directly involoved.

I respect the fact someone has lost thier life and therefore pass on my condolences to thier family and friends, but lets please not jomp on the 'bus driver to blame' band wagon once again until the full facts surrounding this incident are known.

I used to drive the 472 and remember the first few times on the route were very confusing around this junction.

I am not fully aware of the facts of this particular accident. However, I liver locally and I've seens / read about / witnessed many accidents on the same spot. So this particular accident may not have been caused by the poor lay-out or the driver not observing the rules, but in general this is clearly a trouble spot that needs to be sorted out.
