A 41-YEAR-OLD has denied murdering his wife in the run-up to Christmas.

Bentley Huggins, of Elliston House in Wellington Street, Woolwich, is accused of stabbing his wife to death on December 22 last year.

Ambulances and police were called to the scene at the pair's home last year.

Desirie Thomas, aged 35, was pronounced dead at the scene.

But Huggins, who appeared at the Old Bailey on April 2, has denied murdering her.

He was remanded in custody and is due to face trial on September 3 in the same court.
