CHILDREN in Downham are hoping to raise money for underprivileged schools in Burma through selling their artwork.
Every pupil at Rangefield Primary School in Rangefield Road has contributed to a charity exhibition, which went on display for friends and family.
The pieces of art were on sale and all the profits went towards the school’s chosen charity Hope 4 the World, which helps train teachers and resource underprivileged schools in Burma.
Each class prepared pictures on a different theme, and used different mediums, including charcoal, oil pastels and paints.
The school chose the charity after one of its teachers, art coordinator Bethan George took part in one of the charity’s expeditions.
Global citizenship co-ordinator Chris Mead said: “We’re hoping to raise as much money as possible and we want to put money back into education and art.”
