OUTREACH centres in Mottingham and St Paul’s Cray have been awarded for achieving the national benchmark for delivering services.
The Mottingham Community and Leaning Shop in Beaconsfield Road, and the Cotmandene Community Resource Centre in Cotmandene Crescent, both received Matrix accreditation, which is the industry standard for information, advice and guidance.
Portfolio holder for renewal and recreation Councillor Peter Morgan said: “This award is a fantastic accomplishment and we are grateful to the staff and volunteers for all their hard work.
“Helping to provide people in the borough with the real and lasting skills needed for new opportunities is a valuable service to the local community and job outcomes have reflected this.”
The outreach centres in Mottingham and St Paul’s Cray are community driven centres offering learning opportunities, training, help, guidance and support.
Local people can drop in to receive free course and careers advice as well as use ICT suites, access job club and job search facilities and get help with their CVs.
