DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses after a toddler was said to have been sexually assaulted on a train between Chatham and Bromley South.
British Transport Police say the three-year-old boy was touched inappropriately on the 5.32pm Gillingham to London Victoria service on December 30 last year.
The alleged incident happened shortly after the child and his mother boarded the train at Chatham at 5.36pm.
They got off at Bromley South at 6.15pm.
A 52-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and released on bail until February 22.
Detective Constable Andy Parkinson said: "The child had left his seat to wander up the aisle, and as his mother followed him she noticed a man touch him inappropriately.
"I am particularly keen to speak with a key witness who I believe left the train at St Mary Cray station."
