ANERLEY: 34-year-old man at court after hiding knife down trousers

A 34-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court after being caught hiding a 1ft long kitchen knife - down his trousers.

Frederick Freeman-Roach, of Weighton Road, Anerley, appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on June 22 after being charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

He was arrested after a resident called police on June 19 telling them they had seen a man with a knife in Penge High Street.

A PCSO from the Penge and Cator Safer Neighbourhood Team spotted a man inside the Favourite Chicken Shop in the high street and saw him tuck something down his trousers.

When a PC arrived, he was taken from the restaurant and searched, revealing the knife.

He is due back at the court on July 6.
