Penge parks in the running for Help a London Park cash

AS a London-wide contest draws to a close, council officers are urging people to keep voting to help secure £400,000 for three parks in Penge.
Commuters on their way to work at Penge East train station on Friday (January 23) were offered the chance by Bromley Council to vote for Penge parks' nomination in the London Mayor’s Help a London Park contest.
If the council's campaign succeeds in securing enough votes, Betts Park, Penge Recreation Ground and Royston Field, all in Penge, could receive a £400,000 cash boost.
Parks partnership officer Stephen Tickner said: “Please take just a few minutes to go online and vote.
“We have been really pleased by the numbers of people who are supportive of the campaign.
"Lots of the people we are meeting now know about the campaign, but we need them to vote too.
"If you have voted, ask a friend to vote too as we suspect the result could be very close.”
Commuters, park users and residents can vote online in the contest which ends on January 30
