GREENWICH and Bexley babies became Britain’s youngest Olympic fans when they took to the saddle this week.
The athletic tots took part in a host of Olympic-themed events including a pony-jumping race and obstacle course made of tunnels, play gyms and multi-coloured balls.
A colourful closing ceremony was held for Blackheath's bouncing babies with balloons, Union Jacks, ribbons and pom poms on display at Blackheath Park yesterday.
The events were organised by baby development programme Baby Sensory which runs weekly classes across Greenwich and Bexley for babies from birth to 13 months.
Baby Sensory area manager Renee Micklefield said: "Seeing parents and babies having such a wonderful time together, week on week, is so satisfying and today was no exception!
"This week’s Baby Athletics theme certainly challenged the babies through a variety of interesting physical activities that got everyone in the festive Olympic mood – and of course, most of the babies slept well at the end of the session!"
The Olympic spirit continues with a free baby and toddler athletics trial in Danson Park on July 15.
