A MAN has donned a luminous mankini and run through Bexleyheath to raise more than £200 for charity.

Anthony Packer of Upper Grove Road, Belvedere, ran from Bexleyheath Clock Tower to Blackheath Common on June 30 and raised £250 for Help the Heroes.

The challenge took him and his friend, Russell Tatham, one hour and 37 minutes.

Help for Heroes is a charity formed to help those who have been wounded in Britain's current conflicts.

Mr Packer, 27, said: “A lot of my friends are in the army and one of them has died in service, so I wanted to do something to contribute.

“I chose a mankini because I thought it would grab people’s attention, especially because of the colour.

“If I hadn’t of worn something outrageous, I probably wouldn’t have got noticed.”

Well done on the run for such a good cause - though I think the cycling shorts were cheating (aaaargh, my eyes) !!

I am so proud of you Anthony and Russell for the effort you put into this run, well done and no I don't want to see your bum so shorts underneath the mankini were good idea.
