FIVE members of staff at a secondary school are celebrating a total of 130 years service.

Erith School, in Avenue Road, Erith, presented the teaching and support staff with long service awards.

They included senior laboratory technician, Wendy Anderson, and deputy director of Post 16, Meftaha Taylor, who have both worked at the school for 20 years.

School librarian, Sharon Burgum, John Hirst, a science teacher, and principal Julie Turner, have all worked for Bexley Council and Erith School for 30 years.

School governors John Turner and Gary Hyde congratulated the staff as they presented the Governors’ Long Service Awards.

Mr Turner said: "This is a remarkable achievement and just proves that Erith School really is one big family".
