STUDENTS from a secondary school are campaigning for an Endangered Animals Day.
More than 200 pupils at Blackfen School for Girls, in Blackfen Road, are calling for a day to raise awareness and money for animals facing extinction.
The teens invited MP for Old Bexley and Sidcup, James Brokenshire, to listen to their proposals and ask for his support.
Bethany Clarke, 13, told Mr Brokenshire: "We care about these animals but our support alone is not enough, we need the support of our government and our country."
Students are now writing to politicians, animal welfare charities and celebrities to ask for their support.
The proposal has already got the backing of London Zoo.
America is the only country in the world which has an Endangered Species Day.
