AN EIGHT-YEAR-OLD boy was the envy of his classmates when he got to rule his school for a day.
Ricky Newson won the annual Christmas raffle to take on the role of headteacher at Barrington Primary School, in Barrington Road, Bexleyheath.
The Year 4 pupil carried out a fire drill with the whole school, had a health and safety walk around the building with the premises manager and held an assembly.
He also filled out certificates and spoke to children throughout the day.
Headteacher Jacquie Keelan said: "It's always exciting when a child takes over the running of the school.
"I think he had a bit of a revelation finding out all the things I do that are not teacher related.
"He had some very good ideas that I will mull over."
