Chesham: man found with head and neck injuries
A MAN was rushed to hospital after being found with neck and chest injuries in Chesham.
The man was found by a member of the public on the Hillside at 6.20pm following a suspected assault.
Emergency services attended the scene and he was taken to the JR2 Hospital, Oxford where he remains in a stable condition.
Police are appealing for help in identifying the man. No further information has been released on how he received the injuries.
Ass Det Sgt Zoe Hardy, leading the investigation, said: "The victim was last seen in Ferriers Way, Chesham between 12.30pm and 1pm and was discovered at 6.20pm.
"Between those times we have no idea of his whereabouts and I urge anyone who recognises this man's description and may have seen him in the Chesham area yesterday to come forward as their information could be vital to police enquiries."
The victim is a white man, between 5ft 10ins and 6ft, medium build and in his early thirties.
He has a shaven head which is slightly receding and he was wearing casual Chino shorts with a belt and grey sandals.
Residents who live in Hillside were unable to get into the road when the man was first discovered but were eventually let back into their homes.
Nick Edelsten, 46, who lives in Hiving's Hill, opposite Hillside, came home from picking up his two children from golf at around 7.45pm last night, to find the road cordoned off.
The engineer invited a couple, who live in Hillside, into his home last night after they were not aloud through by police.
He said: "I came back and clearly something significant was happening because you do not normally see things like this happening in this part of town.
"They were not letting anybody, even the residents, into the road.
"These things normally do not happen in our neck of the woods."
