Road-users urged to watch out for motorcyclists
ROAD-USERS have been warned to take extra care as the summer sunshine brings more motorcyclists out and about.
The call comes after a collision between a car and a motorbike on Thursday evening.
The crash took place on the A40 between Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross near the junction with Potkiln Lane, at around 6.45pm.
Marc Lister, spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service said people should be aware that longer evenings mean more motorcyclists are out enjoying the weather.
He said: "There is a potential for danger at this time of year - car drivers just aren't used to seeing more motorbikes on the road."
Two ambulances attended the incident, along with firefighters.
A man in his 30s was thrown from his motorcycle in the accident, and sustained suspected limb and back injuries.
He was taken to Wexham Park hospital in Slough, but his condition is not thought to be serious.
Firefighters cut a man out of the car, who was also taken to Wexham Park hospital.

And of course, the council are doing their bit for road safety by switching off all the lighting on this road after dark!

heres a suggestion from someone who was nearly killed by a motorcyclist . Why the hell don't motor cyclists watch out for cars and stop weaviong out of traiffic and stop over taking at speed on blind bends
I have had just about enough of this. Why the hell can't motor cyclists be told yto look out for drivers of small cars who do not deserve to have their lives turned upside down by stupid plonjers!

If you travel on two wheels and don’t feel safe or want to avoid being knocked off your bike there is only simple solution – get a car! So far I haven’t heard of anyone being knocked off their car.
Bike riders think they own the road and I have seen some rather dubious manoeuvres carried out by bikers then they wonder why they have accidents!

It's a lot easier to see the headlights of a motorcyclist, or any other vehicle, without the continuous glare of street lights, in unnecessary places.

right, tiger ivor and smokey how can you sit there and say basically all motorcyclists are loonatics. we are far more vunerable to being injured in a crash and all it takes is for bloody car drivers to check mirrors and blindspots alot more often! not much to ask really and we all have driving liscences dont we?! we filter in traffic because we can and if your aware we do it, why not pay extra attention and keep an eye out?! and smokey, how can we not look out for cars?! they r everywhere!! bikes are much less common and as such are a smaller percentage of the road users. unless you ride a bike you dont realise just how stupid and dangerous some people are on the road. im not saying that all bike riders are angels but for christ sake, just checking your mirrors and making that extra life look once in a while might just save lives, yours and others

There are careless motorcyclists just as there are careless car drivers. Not all car drivers are careless and not all motorcyclists are careless.
It should be down to everyone on the road to ensure the safety of themselves and others. No party is innocent of making mistakes.

Motorcyclists should take more care themselves. On the A40 they undertake and overtake on both sides of the middle lane, travelling more than twice the speed of the cars and ignoring cars indicating to pull out. It is little wonder so many get killed when they don't observe the highway code. [bold]There are 3 lanes on the A40, not 5[/bold]

But surely I can do it in my car.... but I DON'T because it's unsafe to me AS WELL AS OTHER ROAD USERS. Why should Car users look out for Motor cyclists cutting in and weaving in front of them AND as well as watching for them driving along normally like sensible road users???
