AXE-WIELDING thieves stole jewellery from a Gerrards Cross store yesterday.

Two men wearing balaclavas smashed the front display window of the Bucks Gold Company in Packhouse Road with an axe before they jumped into a waiting Mercedes with the contents just after 11am on Saturday.

The car, driven by a third man, sped off down Packhouse Road towards Chalfont St Peter and was later found abandoned in the slip road off the A413 leading to Gerrards Cross Golf Club. Nobody was injured in the raid.

Det Insp Kevin Mahon said: “I would like to hear form anyone who witnessed the robbery or who has information that can help the police investigation.

“We are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who believes they have seen the getaway car, or any other suspicious vehicles, between Gerrards Cross and the Golf Club.”
