Harrow is gearing up for the Olympics with its own Community Games.
Creating by the West London Partnership, the Community Games will offer local residents from all backgrounds the chance to come together as a community for light hearted sporting fun.
The scheme invites families, faith groups, colleagues, schools or charities to organise their own events in a way that celebrates the uniqueness of their particular communities.
Events can be competitive, or just a chance to try something new.
Cllr David Perry, from Community and Cultural Services, said: “I’m delighted that Harrow’s communities are getting involved in the Community Games.
“By doing this we will show the next generation the importance that sporting and cultural activities have in bringing our diverse community together, and show that we can have a huge amount of fun when doing do.”
Upcoming events in Harrow include BTWSC's Getting Involved at Flash Musicals Youth Theatre on Saturday, July 6, and Harrow Recreation Ground Users' Association's Festival or Art and Sport on Sunday, July 15.
