Restaurants in Harrow ranked under new food rating system

Harrow’s diners can see the best places to eat in the borough, thanks to a new food ratings system.

Restaurants, cafés and takeaways are now given a zero to five rating on the Food Standards Agency Website, and two in the borough have been awarded the lowest rating.

Hot Flavour Grill, in Harrow Weald, and Indian restaurant Club Trees in Kenton Lane, both received a zero.

Sai Pubvala, manager at Club Trees, said he was “disappointed” with receiving such a low score, but plans to do “everything in his power” to bump it up.

He said: “We have closed for two days while we have cleaners in to really gut the place and give it a revamp. I hope then Harrow Council will come back and review the situation, and see the effort we’ve made to make the place more hygienic.”

Meanwhile McDonalds in Station Road and Pizza Hut Express in St Ann’s Road received five stars.

Harrow Council’s food inspectors make regularly unannounced visits to restaurants across the borough, checking how food is handled and stored, and the condition and cleanliness of the building.
