A new consultation on lorries using residential roads will help "keep the neighbourhoods safe and free from noise", according to a Harrow councillor.
The council is asking people to help identify the main roads that HGVs should use to get around in the borough.
It also plans to update signs and publicise the changes in maps, which clearly mark sections of residential roads where HGVs are banned.
The seven-week project is funded by the Mayor of London’s transport local implementation plan and will be launched on Monday, February 13.
Councillor Phillip O’Dell, portfolio holder for environment and community safety, said: “We want to keep our neighborhoods safe and free from noise, and barring lorries from where they have no business to be.
“We want to know what all our residents and transport industry think about the approach.”
Comment on the proposals from Monday by visiting www.harrow.gov.uk/consultations. Consultation leaflets are also available from all of the borough’s libraries and Harrow Civic Centre.
