Man stabbed in Eastcote Lane, South Harrow

A MAN was stabbed in the chest after a fight in South Harrow this afternoon.

The 26-year-old was rushed to a north London hospital after the attack, in Kings Road, near the junction with Eastcote Lane, at around 4.30pm, and his condition is serious but stable.

A friend of the victim, who did not want to be named, described the man as a “nice bloke” and a “good friend”.

He said the man has a punctured lung but is recovering in hospital.

Andy Benjamin, joint manager of Mick's Gents' Hairdressers, in Eastcote Lane, said: “We just heard a noise and walked outside and saw a crowd of guys and two youths having a fight.

“It seemed to end, they both went their separate ways and that was it.”

Witnesses say the fight spilled out into the road in Eastcote Lane and many thought it was over.

But some say it was around the corner in Kings Road where the 26-year-old was hit by a single stab wound to the chest.

One business owner described the fight as a “skirmish” while another said: “There was a couple of youths having a scrap. That was all we saw.

“There didn't seem to be any serious injury involved – just fisticuffs.”
