A mobile phone user has hit out at T-Mobile after the network in Edmonton has been down for almost two weeks.
Demetri Polycarpou, who lives in Bounces Road, has been unable to receive or make telephone calls on his T-Mobile iPhone since Friday, August 17.
The 21-year-old said his friends and family using T-Mobile in Edmonton are also affected and they are losing patience with the company.
He said: “It is awful, especially because my family and friends are all like it and because I am the only technical person in the street people are asking me to fix it, but I can’t.
“It’s just crazy – you pay for a phone and you can’t use it.”
Mr Polycarpou, who is a customer service operator, said he can see if he has a missed call and is able to make one phone call if he turns his phone off and on again, but he then loses signal once more.
He claims he contacted the telephone company eight days ago to try and resolve the issue and T-Mobile said it would take between three and five days to fix.
He added: “We are using the home phone – we haven’t used the home phone for about a year and it hasn’t been so busy.”
Mr Polycarpou said he is considering switching networks because although he believes T-Mobile offers the best deals, he said it is pointless if he is unable to use his telephone.
A statement from T-Mobile said: "We are aware that some of our customers are experiencing problems with making and receiving calls in the Edmonton area.
“This is due to essential upgrade work. We are working to restore full service as quickly as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused."
