A student who moved schools to escape bullies will start Cambridge University in September.
Winchmore School student Kathryn Akers received an incredible three A*s in history, English literature and sociology despite needing one A* and two As to meet her offer.
The 18-year-old moved to the school in Laburnum Grove in Winchmore Hill half-way through Year 10 to escape bullying for being too academic.
She said: “I feel a great sense of achievement now, I am so relieved I came here.”
The model student, who has a keen interest in Richard III, will study Medieval History at the women-only Newnham College from September.
She said: “I am amazed, I didn’t expect to meet my offer. I didn’t sleep at all last night – I watched Braveheart, you can’t enjoy yourself while you’re waiting.
“I called my mum and my dad straight away and my dad was crying. It is just brilliant, I can’t believe it.”
Miss Akers, who lives in Logan Road, Edmonton, has always wanted to be a teacher but is now considering pursuing a career as a lecturer in the future, or even writing a book.
She said: “I am most looking forward to the library - it will be amazing to see all the books that I might one day read.”
Deputy head of Sixth Form, Lisa Hughes, said: “We really encourage students to achieve here and to apply to top class universities.
"They get lots of support with their applications and we have always encouraged success with our students.”
Miss Akers will celebrate her success by travelling to Ibiza tonight with 15 friends to enjoy a week-long party.
