Enfield Council finance director and father of EastEnders actress admits £500,000 fraud

Enfield Council’s former finance director has today admitted defrauding the authority of nearly £500,000.

John Jossa, father of EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa, faked invoices from a council supplier to con his own department out of the cash.

The 58-year-old also put his wife Selina on the council’s pay role for more than a year, despite the fact she never worked there.

This morning Jossa admitted the fraudulent claims, which were carried out while he worked as the authority’s most senior finance figure.

Jacqueline Jossa, 19, plays Lauren Branning in the long-running BBC soap.
