An Indian restaurant in Enfield has re-opened after a cockroach infestation.
Anuraag Tandoori in Cockfosters Parade, Cockfosters Road, had to pay £900 in costs and was forced to close the premises until the insects were brought under control.
The owners were told in Enfield Magistrates Court on Friday that the restaurant could not open until the problem was solved.
The cockroaches were found in the premises on January 31 following a routine hygiene inspection, and were eradicated by Friday February 3.
Enfield council's cabinet member for environment, councillor Chris Bond, said although he is pleased the owners solved the problem so quickly, they should “never have allowed it to spread out of control in the first place.”
