Volunteers from Enfield are wanted to help with the Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Enfield Council and the volunteering group, Volunteer Centre Enfield, are asking for businesses and people living in the area to get involved.
Councillor Bambos Charalambous, cabinet member for leisure and Olympics, said: “For most people, the Olympic and Paralympics Games happen in their own country once in a lifetime.
“So for those of us in London this year’s games and other events are a great opportunity to take part in some way with a local event or volunteer.
“I know that many people will want to welcome the Olympic torch into the borough on July 25, encourage their children to take part in school sports and above all enjoy the games.
“I do want people in all parts of the borough to have a chance to take part.”
People are needed to work in Enfield’s tourist information centre at the Dugdale Centre, London Road, to support the Enfield festival in May to September and to help steward events in the build up to the games.
