An Edmonton school will mark its centenary next month, with three days of special events.
St Edmund’s Catholic Primary School, in Hertford Road, will mark the occasion with a mass, a student fun day and an open day for past and current students and teachers.
Archbishop Vincent Nichols will deliver the mass at St Edmund’s Catholic Church, in Hertford Road, on Thursday, March 1.
Enfield’s Mayor, Councillor Christiana During, will attend with the school’s pupils. The open day, on Saturday, March 3, is for former students and teachers to see how the school has changed over the years.
Jackie Johnstone, deputy headteacher, said: "The kids and the whole community are really excited about the events.
"The children have been looking at old pictures and seeing the different ways that clothes have changed over the years.
"Some of them are so interested in the fact that there was no photocopier."
Former headmistress Adele Footman, 95, who now lives in Cambridgeshire, will attend the school’s open day.
Pupils aged four to nine will also entertain guests with songs.
The school has also organised a fun day on Friday, March 2, which includes a bouncy castle for the pupils to enjoy.
