Enfield students run mile for Sport Relief

SPRIGHTLY staff and students ran a mile around their school on Wednesday to raise money for Sport Relief.

Two of the sixth formers at Lea Valley High School, in Bullsmoor Lane, dressed as hares to try to rally support for their cause.

The run took place around the perimeter of the school grounds, which is exactly one mile.

Friends, family and staff sponsored the pupils, and the event was organised by teacher Nathan Woodville.

Headteacher Janet Cullen congratulated the pupils. She said: "All the money raised through Sport Relief helps disadvantaged people living unimaginably tough lives, both at home in the UK and across the world's poorest countries.

"Well done, Lea Valley."

The aim of Sport Relief, which ends on Sunday, is to encourage fundraising for poor and vulnerable people from sports events across the country.
