A MAN from Enfield has been banned from keeping animals after starving his dog to death.

Tyrone Fenton, 30, from Eastfield Road, was sentenced at Enfield Magistrates' Court yesterday.

He will be unable to keep pets for five years after failing to get veterinary treatment for his emaciated Staffordshire bull terrier, Tyson.

Fenton was also ordered to complete a 100-hour community service order and to pay £100 costs.

Tyson died at home from inadequate nutrition before being taken to see a vet.

RSPCA inspector Virginia Ross said: "Tyson was so skinny I could see every bone in his body.

"A vet said that he had suffered for four weeks."

Fenton pleaded guilty to failing to seek veterinary treatment at an earlier hearing on February 18.
