A DESPERATE pensioner is appealing to find out what has happened to her 20-year-old cat who went missing on Thursday.
Violet Brown, 81, last saw black and white moggy Bertie sat on the doorstep of her Mill Hill home when she went shopping with her daughter.
However, when she returned 90 minutes later the cat, who normally waits for her in the doorstep of her Halegrove Gardens home, was not there.
She said: “I started looking for him as he never goes missing, but no-one had seen him. I searched all night with my daughter.
“Then I spoke to one of my neighbours and she said she had seen a woman putting him into her car. I have phoned police and all the other agencies but no-one has heard anything.
“I just want to know what has happened to him. He used to walk out into the road so if he was clipped it was probably his fault, but I just want to know as I have had him for 20 years.”
Mrs Brown said she has been searching for Bertie all weekend, but has not turned up any more clues.
