Michael Seres, from Radlett, to run with Olympic torch today

A man who has raised thousands of pounds for charity will run with the Olympic Torch in Welwyn Garden City today.

Michael Seres, from Radlett, raised over £200,000 for the charity 3Cs, which supports children with Crohn’s disease.

The 42-year-old was diagnosed with the illness over 30 years ago.

He discovered he was nominated by a friend when in hospital recovering from a bowel transplant.

The father of three said: “It was just an unbelievable boost – it just felt so special.”

He added: “I am very happy and I feel incredibly proud.

“It will be a fantastic experience to be a part of the Olympics. It is a once in a lifetime thing.”

He says he is hopeful that today’s special and historic event will continue to raise awareness for the charity.
