NatWest branch to stay open later following computer glitch
The Borehamwood branch of NatWest bank will extend its opening hours today, following a technical glitch that left customers unable to access their accounts since last week.
The branch in Shenley Road will be open until 7pm this evening in a bid to help customers cope with the fallout of the problem.
Although it is unclear how many of NatWest’s 7.5 million customers are affected, thousands are reportedly having difficulties with online banking and making transactions.
Stephen Hester, chief executive of the RBS Group, says he was “very sorry” for all inconvenience caused.
He said: “Our customers rely on us day in and day out to get things right, and on this occasion we have let them down. This should not have happened.
“Right now my top priority, and the priority of the entire RBS Group, is to fix these problems and put things right for our customers.
“This is taking time, but I want to reassure people that we are working around the clock to resolve these problems as quickly as we are able.”
